MEETING GOD

Here’s the deal, it’s like anyone you meet for the first time.  Sometimes you feel a real “connection” and you just “click” instantly, then sometimes you don’t feel a strong connection or click right at first but after awhile and getting to know one another better you realize there is a connection and click after-all.

I realize there are many different beliefs in the world and different gods that people believe in.

I am referring to Jehovah God, the great ‘I AM’ from the Bible.  See God is Spirit. He always has been and always will be. He created and rules the universe and everything in it. Cool huh?  What is even cooler, is that He has a Son named Jesus and a Holy Spirit.

God is triune, that’s why mankind is known to be triune as well.  We live in a body, have a soul and a spirit.  Jesus, God’s Son was conceived in a virgin girl named Mary by the Holy Spirit.  When he was born, he was fully God and fully man.  Crazy cool, right?!?! I know, it’s kinda hard to wrap your natural mind around that right?  Well see, that’s just it.  The natural mind cannot comprehend the incredible, miraculous power of God.  The mind argues and defies what it cannot explain!  For example, things that are humanly impossible like I just described, BUT God.

Nothing is impossible with Him.

That is where faith comes in.  Just because you can’t see it, wrap your mind around it doesn’t mean it’s not true.  Face it, you can’t see the wind but you sure can see the effects of the wind.  I didn’t see Jesus die and be buried and then rise from the grave so that I could be saved from myself into a better life.  But, no one will ever be able to change what I experienced when I met Jesus and asked Him to save me and love me and teach me and be my best friend.

Meeting Jesus really isn’t hard.  I don’t know why so many people make it complicated and legalistic.  Every strong, fulfilling relationship is built on commitment, loyalty and time invested in getting to know one another.  There are many benefits to having a relationship with God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit.  My prayer is that you will take your own Journey with God and experience the wonderful benefits of relationship with Him.

Ready, Set, read the following out-loud and let the Journey begin!

Hello God, I need you.  I need to be free of my stuff, my sin.  I need to experience peace that passes all understanding because there is so much happening that makes no sense. I need to feel clean and the heaviness lifted off my emotions, my mind and my body.  I’m tired and I need a place to find rest and acceptance for who I am both good and bad.  I believe you are Jehovah God and you sent your Son Jesus to the earth to die in my place so that I can live forgiven and free.  Being good, isn’t enough to get me to You. I need Jesus.  Please forgive me Jesus for trying to live without You and for the things I have done, said, thought, or not done.  Please wash through me with Your love and the blood that You shed when You died for me.  Holy Spirit come and fill me with new life, power and liberty.  Holy Spirit teach me and help me grow into the person I was designed to be from the beginning of time.  Thank you, God for loving me.  I love you.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen

Congratulations!!!   All of Heaven is celebrating!

The anticipation and excitement is off the charts by what is known as the ‘Great Cloud of Witnesses’.  You know, people who have died and gone to heaven.  Family members, friends and millions of other people that you have yet to meet but will when you join them in Heaven if you prayed the above prayer and meant it with all your heart.

We have prepared a list of Scriptures from the Bible that confirm everything I have said so that you know that I’m not blowing smoke in your face, but that I’m telling you the truth.

A great way to continue to get to know God, Jesus and Holy Spirit better, is to read the Bible and find an awesome church or home group that will help you grow.

Not all churches or home groups are safe or foster a clear view of a gracious, merciful, just and holy God.  God is not rigid, angry, condemning, judging or after your money.  God is very interested in your character, your integrity, your morals, your health, your finances and your families.

We will continue to pray that God lead you to a place that will empower you to thrive, grow, and build a life of honor, pleasing to God, to you and those you love.

If you have prayed the above prayer out-loud, please contact us with your decision at help@building4lifecc.com.  We are here to walk with you as you journey with God.

Where to Begin

To get an initial overview of who God is, try reading these sections of the Bible.

     Genesis Chapter 1

     Luke Chapter 1 Verses 26-35

     Hebrews Chapter 10 Verses 38 & 39; Chapter 11 Verses 1-3 & 6

     John Chapter 10 Verse 10; Chapter 11 Verses 25-27; Chapter 14 Verse 6

     Romans Chapter 3 Verses 10 & 23; Chapter 5 Verse 8; Chapter 6 Verse 23; Chapter 10 Verses 9 & 13

     2 Timothy Chapter 2 Verse 15

God’s Word/Scripture Verses:

For those of you totally new to the Bible, I want to give you a brief overview of what you will find.  There are 66 Books in the Bible.  The Bible is divided into the Old and New Testaments with Proverbs and Psalms.

Scripture Verses contain the name of the Book, the Chapter and then the Verses.  As you become more familiar with God’s Word, you will learn to write Scripture References like this:  Luke 1:26-35

I recommend that you begin your journey with God by reading the 3 Books of John found just before the last two books of the Bible (Jude and Revelations).  Then follow the lead of the Holy Spirit in you where to read next.  I read a Proverbs Chapter and a portion of the Psalms each day.
