From the Founders Heart,
It’s hard to believe that HFTC 2015, will be our 10th year of serving others and changing lives through providing hope during the holidays. Looking back to the especially ‘tough year’ when our children were little and we had been out of work, Scott and I, remember the hope that was built in our hearts by the kind generosity of others providing food and gifts for our family. It was then that we made a commitment to bring hope to others during the holiday season. It took twelve years, but in 2006, with $50.00 in our pocket and a solid plan, we began making a difference in the lives of others we had never met before.
We have learned many things through the years. One of the most valuable lessons has been the amazing power of hope when people help people overcome difficult circumstances especially during the holidays. There is a place for everyone to give and it all makes a difference. Donations, shoppers, gift wrappers, table hosts, loading and unloading, delivery teams, it all matters and together it brings the amazing power of hope back into the hearts of the discouraged, overwhelmed and broken.
We invite you to become part of the Hope For The City-Hope for the Holidays network. Our budget for 2015 is $85,000.00. We need YOU and your support, whether it be cash donations, gifts-in-kind, or volunteer time. It takes all of us working together to make a difference in the lives of our great city and state.
Bring hope to our city,
Scott & Yvonne Spurlin
